FREDERICK, MARYLAND — A Maryland nurse miraculously survived a 75-foot fall after forgetting to mind the gap when she tried to help out at the scene of an accident.

Angela Weir was driving eastbound on the Interstate 70 in the early hours of yesterday when she saw a crash involving a dump truck and a tractor trailer on the other side of the road, WTOP reported.

Good Samaritan Weir got out of her car and started running towards the scene to help.

Thinking there was solid ground between the two lanes, she jumped over a jersey wall and plunged 75-feet into the Monocacy River below.

Weir told the Washington Post she fell for a long time and thought she was going to die. But after hitting the water, she managed to swim 60 feet to shore.

She was treated at the scene and airlifted to the hospital, somehow walking away with minor fractures to her spine and skull.

The drivers of the vehicles in the crash were both taken to the hospital. Their conditions were unknown.

Next time Angela, look before you leap!
