The grandson of former New York mob boss John Gotti, also named John, was charged on Thursday (August 04) by New York City prosecutors with dealing oxycodone and other drugs. <br /> <br />Gotti was arrested along with six other individuals after police recovered approximately $240,000 (USD) in cash, more than 850 oxycodone and Xanax pills, drug ledgers and other records. <br /> <br />The investigation was dubbed by the police as 'Operation Beach Party'. <br /> <br />All seven are charged with first, second and third degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, second-degree conspiracy and second-degree money laundering. <br /> <br />If convicted, Gotti could face up to 25 years to life in prison. <br /> <br />The elder John Gotti died in prison of cancer in 2002.
