With larger portion sizes and many foods higher in fat, it’s not surprising that the average weight of American men increased by 15 pounds over 20 years, according to a new study published today by the U.S. CDC.<br />CDC researchers found the average weight of U.S. men over the age of 20 increased to 195.7 pounds, based on data from 2011-2014.<br />However, the rate of weight gain is slowing down.<br />Since 2002, men in the U.S. increased their average weight by just five pounds.<br />Women and children are not immune either.<br />The average woman in 1960 weighed 140.2 pounds.<br />Today, the average woman is 168.5 pounds.
