Bulgarian runner Silvia Danekova has tested positive for a banned substance in Rio. She has been temporarily suspended pending a B sample test.<br /><br /> The 3,000-metre steeplechase athlete tested positive for banned blood booster erythropoietin (EPO) on her arrival in Brazil on July 26 to compete in the Olympic Games.<br /><br /> The Bulgarian Olympic Committee’s Secretary General Belcho Goranov told reporters “unfortunately, we have a positive test,” but declined the name the competitor.<br /><br /> The country has been marred by several doping cases, including its weightlifting team, which was banned from competing in Rio.<br />
