Officials said at least two people had died in the floods across Louisiana and other parts of the Gulf Coast.<br />Gov. John Bel Edwards declared a state of emergency as rescue workers in the southeastern part of the state braced for more rain.<br />The state's emergency management office called it a "historic flood event."<br />“This is an ongoing event.<br />We’re still in response mode,” Gov. Edwards said.<br />Rescue teams pulled more than 100 pets to safety as well, Edwards told reporters at a news briefing Saturday.
