CORONA DEL MAR, CALIFORNIA — A Costa Mesa driver has apologized for his profanity-fueled road rage tirade against a California cyclist last week.

According to CBS Los Angeles, 66-year-old Robert Lewis appears in a viral video posted to Facebook and YouTube where he threatens a cyclist during a road rage rant.

In the video, posted last Thursday, Lewis does everything from give the cyclist the middle finger, calling him a “queer” and even called him a “dead man walking.” Terrifying.

But what kicked it off? Well, Lewis apparently didn’t understand state laws concerning shared roads. In the video he wears a T-shirt with that business’s name on it.

Lewis said sorry on local TV for the profanity-fueled tirade.

Speaking to CBS Los Angeles, Lewis apologized and described himself as an “old surfer, knucklehead.”
