The Zika virus continues its spread throughout South Florida with five people, including three tourists, becoming infected Gov. Rick Scott said Friday. All those who've been infected in the region contracted Zika locally, which suggests that mosquitoes in the area have become infected. Miami Beach is the heart of the city's tourist district and state officials have been keen to protect the No. 1 industry for the region.
