This week, DVB Debate discusses ASEAN.<br /><br />The Association of Southeast Asian Nations, more commonly referred to as ASEAN, is a political and economic organization of ten countries in Southeast Asia. <br /><br />ASEAN was formed in 1967, however, due to xenophobic policies under the former socialist regime and concerns over the country's human rights abuses, Burma did not become a member until 1997.
