In late September, freelance journalist Par Gyi went missing in Mon State, eastern Burma while covering clashes between Democratic Karen Benevolent Army rebels and government troops.<br /><br />His disappearance sparked a desperate search, lead by his wife, Ma Thandar.<br /><br />One month later a notice appeared in Burmese state media. It advised that Par Gyi had been shot by the Burmese army as a suspected member of the DKBA.<br /><br />Ma Thandar’s search for her husband was over.<br /><br />Her journey to justice was just beginning.<br /><br />This is her story.
