For six decades the Burmese government has been fighting the many rebel ethnic armies in the world's longest civil war in Burma. <br /><br />Since Thein Sein's government came to power there have been efforts to open a political dialogue with the rebel armies. <br /><br />But despite tentative ceasefires and recent peace talks, fighting in Kachin and northern Shan states continues. <br /><br />Thein Sein says he wants a nationwide ceasefire congress next month...but DVB debate asks will Burma really achieve peace in 2013?
