TOKYO — Japanese video games can sometimes be a bit too risque for Western audiences, but Dead or Alive 3 Extreme VR for the PS4 is something else entirely. <br /> <br />According to PlayStation Lifestyle, the game — developed by KOEI Tecmo — comes with several “paradise” options that allow gamers to take photos and interact with the models. Viral video of a Japanese demo of these features shows one fellow getting up close and personal with a bikini-clad female model in the game. <br /> <br />And while he looked to be enjoying it, many in the Western gaming media certainly aren’t. <br /> <br />Engadget writes that “Dead or Alive VR is basically sexual assault the game.” The USB Port describes the interactivity as a “harassment feature” that allows players to “molest female characters.” Polygon writes that women in the game are “powerless to do anything” and are “constructed to be violated.” <br /> <br />The game is only going to be released in Asia and won’t get an official Western release (and it’s easy to understand why).
