Johnson, Senior Intelligence Analyst at the Army Foreign Science and Technology Center. <br />Mr Johnson describes the features of new Soviet small arms, including the AK-74 automatic rifle, AKS-74 automatic rifle (with folding stock) wire-cutting bayonet, RPK-74 light machine gun, PKM machine gun, SVD sniper rifle, and ballistic reports on 5.54 mm ammunition and the 30 mm grenade launcher. <br />Mr Johnson also describes use of these weapons with BTR-60PB and BMP-1 APCs, and organization of the Soviet motorized rifle platoon.
