TOWNVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA — A teenage boy killed his own father before opening fire at a rural South Carolina school on Wednesday. <br /> <br />The 14-year-old suspect shot his 47-year-old father in the chest with a handgun at their home in Anderson County, Reuters reported. <br /> <br />The boy then hopped in a pickup truck, which he drove for about two miles, before crashing into a fence at Townville Elementary School. The unnamed teenager entered the school playground and began firing. <br /> <br />Two 6-year-old boys were wounded in the leg and foot, one of them critically. A female teacher was also shot in the shoulder. <br /> <br />An unarmed volunteer firefighter subdued the teenager before he could do any more damage and held him until the cops showed up. <br /> <br />The suspect was home schooled and therefore wasn’t a student at Townville Elementary. It’s unknown whether the shooter knew any of the school victims. <br /> <br />His motive remains unclear, but police have ruled out terrorism.
