En árabe Shakira (شكيرة) significa "llena de gracia". También tiene otras interpretaciones como "mujer agradecida" o "diosa de la luz". <br /><br />Es una de las cantantes con más éxito internacional en la historia de la música latina. En la década de 1990 debutó en el mercado discográfico latinoamericano y de España con gran éxito.
