Bullies set 10-year-old special needs boy on fire with gasoline

KERRVILLE, TEXAS — A 10-year-old special needs child is in a coma and struggling for his life after being severely burned in an extreme bullying incident on Sunday. <br /> <br />Kayden Culp has trouble speaking and hearing and, according to his mother, exhibits autistic behavior that often gets him bullied, reports Fox San Antonio. <br /> <br />On Sunday afternoon, he was with two boys at a vacant lot in Kerrville, Texas, when his playmates took him into a nearby shed. One boy poured gasoline on him. The other set him on fire with a lighter. <br /> <br />The resulting fire burned almost 20 percent of Culp’s body, from his ears to his belly button. He had to be rushed to the hospital, where he remains in a coma. <br /> <br />Police on Wednesday arrested one of Culp’s attackers and charged him with first-degree arson, according to KSAT. <br /> <br />The other attacker’s family may be on the run, with neighbors reportedly witnessing them fleeing their house in the middle of the night.
