Footage has emerged from the UK of a hitchhiker straying into the road and almost getting hit by a car. <br /><br />The video, captured in Peterborough on Sunday, shows the pedestrian standing in the middle of the unlit road in a bid to flag down the passing vehicle. <br /><br />Fortunately, and due to the driver's excellent reactions, the car slows down in time to allow the man to jump out of the way.<br /><br />"Stood in middle of a unlit road trying to catch a free lift. Nearly got one in the back of an ambulance," the filmer wrote online.
