Richard Cherwin was a brass bass and bass player about whom - sadly - I could hardly retrieve any biographical data. At some point he played in The Virginians and also led his own band. He recorded around 20 sides; besides, occasionally his name was also used as a pseudonym for other bandleaders (a.o. Justin Ring). This catchy rendition, featuring a vocal by Walter Scanlan (a pseudonym for Walter van Brunt), was recorded in 1929.
