A rally to protest against U.S. troops in the Philippines turned violent on Wednesday as a police van rammed into activists gathered outside the U.S. embassy in Manila.<br />Renato Reyes, Secretary General of left-wing activist group Bayan told journalists that at least three demonstrators had been injured.<br />Police also used water cannon and reportedly tear gas to disperse about 1,000 anti-U.S. protesters.<br />They were protesting against a military pact signed two years ago that allowed more U.S. troops and storage of equipment inside Philippine bases.
