"Execution" by Colin McDougall was first published in 1958. The author was a Second World War veteran. It was the only novel published by the author. <br /> <br />The book won Governor General's Award for English Language Fiction in the year of its publication. Although the book was highly acclaimed, the author decided to lead a quiet life as Registrar of McGill University in Montreal.
