Britain's royals unveil Queen Mother statue

Britain’s queen has unveiled a bronze statue of her mother.<br /><br /> It sits in the English town of Poundbury, in the county of Dorset, which Prince Charles has helped to develop. <br /><br /> He and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, hosted Queen Elizabeth and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, at the ceremony in the main square of the town. <br /><br /> The statue, sculpted by Philip Jackson, depicts the late Queen Mother, aged 51. She died in 2002, aged 101. <br /><br /> Poundbury is built on land owned by Prince Charles and was developed based on his principles of town planning. <br /><br /> Construction began in October 1993 and is scheduled to be completed by 2025, when the town will be home to an estimated 4,500 people.<br />
