U.S. product safety officials announced a recall affecting 2.8 million Samsung Electronics Co. washing machines, in another hit to the company’s reputation already reeling from the botched recall of its Galaxy Note 7 phone.<br />According to CPSC, the top of the washing machine could unexpectedly detach during use.<br />Samsung received 733 reports of "excessive vibration" or the top detaching from the chassis of the machine.<br />The recall affects 34 of Samsung's top-loading models that were sold from March 2011 to November 2016.
