Another blow for Samsung’s reputation; after the problems with some of its Note 7 smartphones catching fire it is now having to recall about 2.8 million top-loading washing machines in the United States.<br /><br /> That follows reports of injuries caused by the top of the machines coming loose and flying off if the high-speed spin cycle is used for washing bedding, water-resistant or bulky items.<br /><br /> The recall involves 34 models sold over the last five years. <br /><br /> The South Korean firm said it had received 733 reports of excessive vibration or the top detaching from machines and nine reports of injuries, including one person who suffered a broken jaw. <br /><br /> It's another #Samsung safety #recall — this time for washing machines https://t.co/RA3pB0Z9Se pic.twitter.com/AbsLt2LV8v— CNET (@CNET) November 4, 2016<br />
