On Friday a jury found Rolling Stone liable for defamation regarding a story published in 2014 about an alleged gang rape at the University of Virginia.<br />The suit was filed by Nicole Eramo, a school administrator, and claimed that the article made her appear insensitive and callous towards an alleged rape victim.<br />The story quickly garnered national attention but was eventually discredited due to lack of evidence and journalistic failures by the reporter.<br />Both the publisher, Wenner Media, and the reporter, Sabrina Rubin Erdely, were also found liable.
