This is Nelson, a hedgehog with no spikes. Nelson has a rare genetic condition that caused him to lose all his hair and spikes and left him totally bald. The spike-less hedgehog was rescued by Foxy Lodge Wildlife Rescue near Norfolk. Due to his condition, Nelson's skin dries out easily and he has to be massaged with oil three times a day. Foxy Lodge co-founder Tonia Gardner insists that Nelson should never be released into the wild, or else he would become easy prey for all sorts of hungry creatures without any spikes to protect him.
