Facebook has been testing a new feature for its Messenger app — public chat rooms, a bulletin board-style feature that lets people engage with those outside their Facebook “friends” on a dedicated topic.<br />While the service never really caught on, the social media giant appears to be giving it another shot as Messenger Rooms, with a new public trial launching in Canada and Australia for Android devices.<br />Every “Room” can focus on specific topics and can include both people friends and strangers.<br />Facebook said then Rooms was a small test, but offered no further comment.
