Donald Trump’s advisers discussed drafting a proposal to reinstate a registry for immigrants from Muslim countries, according to an official who worked on a similar registry after 9/11.<br />It would require those coming to the U.S. from countries with active extremist organizations to register with the feds.<br />A similar program, the National Security Entry-Exit Registration System, implemented after 9/11, required “higher risk” males over the age of 16 to be interrogated and to get fingerprinted.<br />The program also required those in the registry to check in periodically.<br />The Department of Homeland Security abolished the National Security Entry-Exit Registration System under the Obama administration.
