After weeks of public speculation, Bob Dylan has confirmed he will not pick up his Nobel Prize for Literature in person.<br /><br /> The singer songwriter was named the 2016 laureate of the award “for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.”<br /><br /> The Swedish Academy said he’d sent “a personal letter” outlining pre-existing commitments as the reason for his non-attendance.<br />
