Former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Johnny Manziel reached a tentative deal with prosecutors to dismiss his domestic assault case with an ex-girlfriend.<br />His attorney Jim Darnell said that while there is still work that needs to be done, he is encouraged by the steps taken so far.<br />Manziel, who played two seasons with the Cleveland Browns before being waived in March, is accused of threatening and hitting former girlfriend Colleen Crowley last January.<br />The domestic assault case is only one of three legal situations involving Manziel but carries a penalty of up to a year and jail and a $4,000 fine.
