Sales of previously owned homes surged to the highest in nearly ten years in October, reaffirming the strong demand that’s supporting the housing market.<br />Existing-home sales increased two percent since September and are 5.9 percent higher than a year ago, the National Association of Realtors said Tuesday.<br />The news crushed forecasts of a 5.42 million pace and marked the fastest pace of sales since February 2007.<br />The Realtors forecast sales of 5.36 million homes in 2016 and 5.46 million in 2017.
