Footage emerged on Friday, showing Syrian Arab Army soldiers in the village of Nirbeh, which is located just 10 km (6.2 miles) from Aleppo. <br /> <br />Syrian government troops launched an offensive against the so-called Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL), aiming to liberate the al-Bab Plateau villages. Government forces succeeded to capture the villages of Halish, Sheikh Kife, Juba and Nirbeh during the advance in the al-Bab area. <br /> <br />The city of al-Bab is around 50 kilometres (30 miles) south-west of Manbij and is the battleground province of Aleppo.
