COLUMBUS, OHIO — Nearly a dozen people were left wounded following a knife attack at Ohio State University on Monday morning. <br /> <br />Abdul Razak Ali Artan began his stabbing spree by driving his car onto the sidewalk and running over pedestrians, the Columbus Dispatch reported. <br /> <br />The incident took place near Watts Hall on the university campus. <br /> <br />Artan, an 18-year-old student at the university, then exited the vehicle and began attacking people with a butcher knife, WBNS-10TV reported. He injured 11 people in his attack, including one critically. <br /> <br />Officer Alan Horujko of the Ohio State University police confronted Artan and ordered him to drop his weapon. Artan did not comply, prompting Horujko to open fire and kill him. <br /> <br />According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Artan was a Somalian Muslim refugee with permanent residence status who came to the U.S. in 2014. He graduated cum laude from Columbus State Community College before enrolling at Ohio State.
