"The Silent House" by Orhan Pamuk was first published in 1983. It was the author's second published novel, after his first successful novel "Cevdet Bey and His Sons." <br /> <br />The story covers the time period of one week. During that week three siblings visit their grandmother in Cennethisar, a small town near Istanbul, Turkey.
