Aid groups rush to Indonesia following deadly quake

Humanitarian organizations rushed to Indonesia’s Aceh province after a deadly tremor that killed more than 100 people on Wednesday. Nearly 1,500 rescue personnel descended near the epicenter where the 6.5 magnitude quake hit for search efforts. Search teams used devices to help locate mobile phone signals as aid officials scoured through the wreckage. Aceh’s disaster mitigation agency said more than 600 people were injured and thousands are displaced from their homes. Since 9 a.m local time on Thursday, approximately 36 aftershocks have already targeted the area.
