A Silicon Valley based firm called Lucid Motors unveiled their high-end electric vehicle prototype dubbed Lucid Air, in Fremont, California, on Wednesday.<br /><br />The new company hopes to tap into the growing popularity of electric cars and aims to challenge Elon Musk's automaker Tesla for electric vehicle customers.<br /><br />Lucid Motors claim that their Air prototype electric car has a range of over 400 miles on a single charge and can go from 0 to 60 in 2.5 second. A 100 kilowatt engine will generate up to 1,000 horsepower. Loaded with options, the Lucid Air is expected to hit the market sometime in 2018 at a luxury price point of around $100,000.
