Both Johar and Bhansali's films are slated to release on Christmas next year and therefore, Deepika had to choose one out of the two and she opted for the latter's opus.<br /><br />Interestingly, Ranveer was also offered Shuddhi but he also gave preference to Bhansali's film. Priyanka Chopra will also star in Bajirao Mastani and will essay the role of Kashibai, Bajirao's first wife.
