Piers Morgan is BOOED as he appears gagged on stage at the NTAs<br />Piers Morgan was booed as he appeared at the NTAs alongside co-host Susanna Reid - who announced that she'd gagged him, to much hilarity.<br /><br />The two presenters went up on stage to present an award, with Piers sporting a black band of material wrapped around his jaw to stop him talking.<br /><br />Speaking about how she'd managed to get Piers to shut up for five minutes, Susanna told the audience: "It's been a controversial week on Good Morning Britain. But, look, I like to debate things with people. I have an opinion and people are of course entitled to theirs, but if they don't like what I've got to say then let's have a debate about it.<br /><br />"His behaviour was very odd. We weren't even gonna mention the women's march. Come and have it out with me, I say - be a man, Ewan!"<br /><br />READ MORE<br />Emmerdale beats EastEnders to the serial drama prize at the NTAs for the first time<br /><br />Piers made the comments while on the NTA red carpet with Susanna Reid (Photo: PA)<br /><br />The star later made a joke of his controversial tongue (Photo: Getty Images)<br />His comments come just a day after he launched an astonishing attack on the Scottish performer, branding him a “paedophile loving hypocrite”.<br /><br />In a bizarre tirade, presenter Morgan gave the Scot both barrels, calling him a “narrow-minded, stupendously self-aggrandising, anti-democratic little twerp” with his column headline calling him a "paedophile-loving hypocrite".<br /><br />He also rounded on McGregor’s previous support for film director Roman Polanski - a convicted child abuser who pleaded guilty to the statutory rape of a 13-year-old girl before fleeing America.<br /><br />Morgan said: “Had we done the interview, I might have asked him how his heroic support for women justified him working for director Roman Polanski, a self-confessed and convicted child abuser, on the film, The Ghostwriter.<br /><br />“McGregor, who has four young daughters, was asked about it and said: ‘I felt sad for Roman because he’s an old man who I’m incredibly fond of. I like him as a man’.”<br /><br />Morgan claimed McGregor stormed out of the studio after finding out the former newspaper editor would be interviewing him.<br /><br />Piers and co-host Susanna Reid then spotted a tweet from the Hollywood star stating: “Was going on Good Morning Britain, didn’t realise @piersmorgan was host.<br /><br />“Won’t go on with him after his comments about #WomensMarch.”
