Watch & learn how to make delicious Dahi Bhalla, from our chef Seema on Swaad Anusaar. <br /> <br />Dahi Bhalla is a popular chat recipe in North India, where soft vadas are dipped in thick yogurt and garnished with spices and chutneys. <br /> <br />Ingredients <br />1/2 cup soaked Urad dal (Split Black gram) <br />2 Green chillies <br />Salt <br />1 tbsp celery (ajwain) <br />Raisins <br />1/2 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste <br />Oil <br />1/2 tbsp Hing powder (Asafoetida) <br />1 bowl thick Yogurt <br />1 tbsp Sugar <br />1 tbsp Jeera Powder <br />1/2 tbsp Black Pepper Powder <br />Coriander leaves <br />Tamarind Chutney(Imli ki chutney) <br /> <br />Method <br />Take 1/2 cup soaked Urad dal and put it in a grinder, add 2 green chillies, little water and grind it into a thick paste. <br /> <br />Remove the paste in a bowl and add 1 tbsp salt, 1 tbsp celery (ajwain), some raisins and mix well. <br /> <br />Add 1/2 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste. <br /> <br />In a pan heat some oil and fry the vadas. <br /> <br />Take a bowl full of water, add 1/2 tbsp hing powder and put the fried vadas in it and keep it aside for 1 hour. <br /> <br />Take 1 bowl of thick Yogurt , add 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp jeera powder, 1/2 tbsp black pepper powder, salt, Coriander leaves and mix well <br /> <br />Squeeze out the water from the vadas and add it to the serving bowl, pour the yogurt on it and garnish with Tamarind Chutney and some coriander leaves. <br /> <br />The sweet and delicious desi style Dahi Bhalla are ready!
