<br /> <p>Clashes erupted between police and protesters at renewed protests against police brutality on the outskirts of Paris on Saturday, February 11.</p><p>Around 2,000 protesters gathered outside the courthouse in the northern suburb of Bobigny over the alleged rape by police of a 22-year-old black man.</p><br /><p>French news media reported</a> a small group of demonstrators lit cars and hurled projectiles at riot police, who responded with tear gas.</p><br /><p>Violent protests have followed last week’s arrest of the man identified as Theo in the Paris suburb of Aulnay-sous-Bois, who received an emergency operation and remains in hospital after he was allegedly raped with a truncheon by an officer.
