As we enjoyed the glitz and glam of the stars on the red carpet, we couldn't help but notice the many subtle yet significant accessories. What did they mean? The blue ribbon that stood out on the chests of many Oscar-goers represented the American Civil Liberties Union’s new Stand with A.C.L.U. initiative. Donning the blue ribbon is a symbol of solidarity with an organization that is "devoted to protecting the rights of everyone in America" Another pin was the "Together" pin that was created by GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation). Wearing the pin showcased support of "all communities subject to discrimination - including women, Muslims, immigrants, and LGBTQ people." Finally, the little gold PP pin that was seen on Emma Stone's dress was in support of Planned Parenthood.
