The aviation brigade of Air Force of Kazakhstan is conducting live-ammunition firing training with new Mi-35M combat helicopters. <br /> <br />On the military range “Munke” of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan crews of new combat helicopters Mi-35M combat helicopters held the first flights of combat use. During live-ammunition firing training the Shturm guided anti-tank and 80mm unguided missiles launched from Mi-35M combat helicopters. <br /> <br />The Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan received the new Mi-35M combat helicopters from Russia at the end of 2016. The supplies of the Mi-35Ms, produced at PJSC Rostvertol, are part of strategic cooperation between the two countries and are aimed at gradual replacement of the current military helicopter fleet in Kazakhstan with modern rotorcraft. <br /> <br />The multirole Mi-35M attack helicopter is a comprehensive modernisation of the Mi-24V. <br /> <br />The Mi-35M is distinguished by its improved construction. It is equipped with the latest Klimov-produced powerful VK-2500 turboshaft engines, fibreglass main rotor blades, main rotor head with elastomeric joints, a new swashplate and X-type tail rotor. The Mi-35M’s fuselage boasts shortened stub wings and fixed landing gear. <br /> <br />The Mi-35M boasts enhanced flight capabilities, and can be operated at high temperatures and in mountainous terrain.
