Modest Mussorgsky (1839-1881) <br /> <br />This suite of ten pieces was originally composed for the piano by Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky in 1874, as a homage to his friend Viktor Hartmann, the architect and painter. <br /> <br />The suite is Mussorgsky’s most famous piano composition and has become a showpiece for virtuoso pianists.
