When the Saints go marchin’ in – Jimmy McPartland 1954 <br />Jimmy McPartland trumpet, Pee Wee Russell clarinet, Jimmy Archey trombone, Willie “The Lion” Smith piano, Pops Foster bass and George Wettling drums. <br />Traditions remain! Even today, most jazzbands finish off their evening with “The Saints”. <br />In this clip the crowd is totally wild, It all ends like a polonaise, the musicians are dragged from the stage in order to front the dancing crowd. This happened in 1954 on this film already and still today, on my last gig 3 weeks ago, but some 54 year later, a similar situation! Good time jazz........ that’s what it is all about!
