Surely Ewan McGregor is starring as the candelabra, Lumiere [Loo-me-air] in the live action motion picture of "Beauty and the Beast" because he was a fan of the animated 90's classic, right? <br /><br />Think again.<br /><br />The Scottish actor revealed on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert that he's never even seen the original.<br /><br />Yup, even though McGregor has four children, we guess Beauty and the Beast was never part of the Disney line up in their family. <br /><br />Still, the actor defended his lack of role research by saying "it was quite handy, in a way, because when you’re going to play a part that’s so well known, it’s quite good if you don’t know it so it can be yours. I didn't have to try to sound like the guy who did it in the cartoon in the ‘90s."<br /><br />McGregor also defended the fact that this live version features a gay character, LeFou [Le-Foo] played by Josh Gad, which has been met with some controversy.<br /><br />The actor mocked people's adversity with the subject, and said, "he's a gay character! It's 2017 for fuck's sake."<br /><br />Now that McGregor is in this one, we’re sure he wants everyone to be his guest and see it. <br />
