<br /> <p>A truck driving across a frozen Lake Winnipeg in Manitoba, Canada, on March 14, took a plunge when the ice gave way beneath it.</p><p>One of the truck’s two occupants told Storyful “winter driving across the lake used to be safe,” but suggested that in mid-March only ice farther north would be suitable to drive on.</p><br /><p>The two occupants of the vehicle escaped unharmed, with Global News</a>, reported that the two were uninjured and refused emergency medical services. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police warned people to stay off the ice in this area, as a rapid current running under the frozen water makes it unsafe for crossing.</p><br /><p>Global News reported the truck was not salvageable and is currently submerged under the ice.
