A house in a Maryland suburb of Washington, D.C. was levelled early on Friday by an explosion heard for miles around.<br /><br />The blast was so powerful it damaged nearby homes, according to officials.<br /><br />A legal notice appearing in The Washington Post on Wednesday said the home would be sold at auction on Friday afternoon.
