Before the big crazy cricket mania season, IPL, the KKR promoters are fishing into the troubled waters for their team.
Well, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a show cause notice to IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) promoters, Shah Rukh Khan, his wife Gauri and actor Juhi Chawla for violating Foreign Exchange Manage Act (Fema) rules.
Reportedly, the KKR team promoters sold their shares in the company to a Mauritius-based company at lower prices in 2009, that caused Rs 73.6 crore foreign exchange loss to the government.
The Mauritius-based company, The Sea Island Investment Ltd (TSIIL), was owned by Jay Mehta, husband of Juhi Chawla.
However, the amount of penalty for violating Fema rules will be decided accordingly after the appearance of the promoters in their final hearing within two weeks.
Moreover, the maximum penalty in the case will be three times the loss amount.
Well, we wonder in the coming future how many cases like this will come into the limelight.
