David Muir, Lester Holt, and Scott Pelley, who cover this week’s issue of Variety, discussed being the voices of reason <br />that many in America think is sorely needed right now.<br /><br />Pelley defended his description of Donald Trump statements being “divorced from reality.”<br /><br />“I don’t think we were being too hard at all; it was just empirically true,” he said. “The president had said a number of things that day that were false. I think it’s incumbent upon us — all of us, we all believe this — to help our audience sort out fact from fiction.”
