A heartwarming video has emerged of a teenager getting emotional when she meets her future service dog.

The footage, captured on March 16 at a home in Scugog, Canada, shows thirteen-year-old Cadance bursting into tears whilst cuddling her new puppy.

''We have been trying to get our daughter an autism service dog for 4 years as per doctor recommendation,'' Cadance's mother later wrote online.

''We have been applying throughout Canada and the US with rejection after rejection.''

''Cadance has a lot of struggles daily with regulating her emotions, transitions, sensory processing, etc and a service dog would help her to manage and enjoy life without struggling so much.''

''After years of work, we finally found Thames Center for Service Dogs which approved Cadance for a service dog. We do have to purchase the dog,'' she continued.

''We don't take Luna home until she is a least a year old and the training will continue with Cadance and Luna after that but we did go out to meet her.''

''At this moment Cadance finally believed that there are people that support her and believe in her needs and that is worth every effort it took to find Luna,'' she added.
