Commuters evacuated from Saint Petersburg metro after explosion

Footage has emerged purportedly showing commuters evacuating a metro train at Vladimirskaya station in St Petersburg, Russia after an explosion occurred at a nearby station. <br /><br />The video, shot on Monday, shows commuters leaving the station as they are prompted by an announcement on a loud speaker. <br /><br />According to the filmer, the announcement was "By the order of the Metropolitan authorities, the Metro is closing," to which the train driver added: "The train is not going to continue its journey, leave all train cars."<br /><br />According to reports, around ten people were kill by an explosion between Sennaya Ploshchad and Tekhnologichesky Institut stations.<br /><br />The entire metro network has now been closed and the reason for the explosion is under investigation.
