Dozens of people were injured on Saturday (April 8) after a commuter train in western Moscow collided with an intercity train travelling to the city of Brest in Belarus. <br /> <br />At least 50 people sought medical attention, 12 were hospitalised in the incident which occurred at 2216 local (1916 GMT) on Saturday. <br /> <br />Several carriages were derailed after the driver of the commuter train hit emergency breaks to avoid hitting a man crossing the track. The locomotive then began rolling backwards and hit the intercity train coming on the same track. <br /> <br />Commuter and intercity train services in the area resumed on Sunday (April 9) morning.
